From the Workbench 2 :- From design to box
Using the Box Builder you can design a box that will make a perfect gift, what happens when you place the order.

The first step is the choice of woods for the box and inlay. Once these are selected I will choose which section should form the lid and proceed to size and smooth it. Creating a perfect inlay can take more than one attempt and this is a critical part of the process. If all goes ok you end up with two opposite pieces that will perfectly fit together.

These are glued and pressed . the carcass is cut levelled and assembled and the lid is added to the box. This is when I get a real sense of the box and how it is going to look. The next step is to cut off the lid, level the two sections and add the hardware. The base which is solid walnut is polished at this stage.
.

Once the box is assembled the long process of applying the finish starts. It takes a large number of coats to create a finish. While this process goes on the interior is made including the hand sewn watch rolls.
