William Pearce boxes – boxes with heart.

Welcome to my new web-site hopefully the changes that have been made will allow you to interact in a more engaging way with the boxes. 

I take interesting wood that is selected for its figure, and carefully craft it into a box just for you. The first planning of rough timber to smooth reveals the hidden grain patterns in the wood, and poses questions to the maker. I aim to answer those questions by capturing that imagery and shaping it into a box that will give pleasure for years to come.      

These boxes are truly hand-made from hardwood, using both traditional tools, and modern techniques and finishes.        

You can customize your box from a range of designs or create a bespoke box from some very special woods.  

The Box Builder allows you to select a style from one of our ranges and then choose your options for the wood, size, inlay or carving ,linings and interiors from our drop-down menus.  

Bespoke takes this principle even further - you can have a box made completely to your specification. 

Why do I do it?

      There is great satisfaction in creating something unique with you own hands, especially when you have a love of wood.

 The business was started in the New Forest in Hampshire England but circumstances took us to the wonderful countryside of the Alentejo Portugal. After 6 years there I am now back in the UK based in rural Somerset
